Sublime luxury in contemporary
wow factor chalet

usp
Chalet Artemis is a fabulous, modern property, purpose built three years ago to the owner’s specifications. It sits on a hexagonal footprint and makes fantastic use of space, while one of its best features is an out of this world spa area.

location
Artemis is located five minutes away from the Nasserein lift at the eastern end of St Anton. The lift is totally walkable, particularly given that ski boots and skis are left in complimentary lockers at the lift station, but transport is laid on anyway should you want to be picked up.

style
Super stylish contemporary. The chalet is filled with all sorts of beautiful pieces of art, designer sofas, funky contemporary lights, stunning cushions and cosy rugs.

rooms
The rooms are all impressively large, some with balconies, all with en-suite bathrooms with baths, plasma TVs and sophisticated Sonos music systems that can be adjusted for both bathroom and bedroom. They are all beautifully designed and the colour palettes are soft and gentle rather than jewel-bright. Toiletries are by top British manufacturer REN.

food & drink
The food is excellent and flexible. The chef speaks to the party leader the week before to check about food allergies and preferences and he can adapt to smaller meals such as pizza and salad, lay on traditional dishes like fondues or prepare the full feasts that include canapés, amuses bouches, mains, dessert and cheese. If guests want to watch a movie in the cinema, popcorn and ice cream can be laid on. Portions are quite small, meaning you don’t retire from the dining table and feel you have to go and lie down in a darkened room. The chef can also do children’s lunches and dinners. Wines that come as standard include rose Laurent Perrier, Chablis Premier Cru and Mount Riley Sauvignon Blanc.
^

service
The chalet has four members of staff plus driver and dedicated beautician. It feels very lavishly staffed and there is never anyone very far away to pour a glass of champagne, talk you through your sophisticated in-room sound system or help you get on-line.
^

spa facilities
Chalet Artemis is hard to beat for spa facilities. It has an 8m pool with jet stream, steam room, sauna, and shower room with ice cold waterfall shower for diving under after working up a good sweat in the steam room. There is space for loafing on two rattan sofas and a private treatment room where anything from full body massages to facials and pedicures can be laid on.
^

children
Artemis is a sophisticated chalet which has a rather adult feel to it, but the pool in the spa and the cinema, which can be converted into a big playroom for children, are both excellent for families. Children’s lunches can be laid on, as well as early dinners, and there is an Xbox that can be played on the huge cinema screen.
^

extras
There is wifi throughout as well as hardwiring in the bedrooms for really speedy connections, and the chalet has a lovely balcony with views across the village and a rather shapely, stylised statue of Artemis herself in the corner. The TV also has full English channels so you don’t need to miss out on UK television.

for skiers
St Anton is a fantastic ski resort, with lots of challenging runs, great off piste and plenty of skiing for all levels. It also has legendary après-ski, as only Austrian resorts can do. Check out the Mooserwirt or the Krazy Kanguruh for some quintessential, ski-boots-on-tables, beer-swilling, Austrian post-ski fun.
^

for non skiers
Non skiers can loaf about in the spa, indulge in a few treatments, stroll into town just 10 minutes away, which bustles with all sorts of lovely shops, or relax in the chalet cinema and catch up on the latest movies.
^

best thing
The spa.
^

worst thing
The limited seating space in the boot room – although most guests would use the lift station locker area to boot up – and the fact there are no full length mirrors in the rooms (but we were assured that this was being addressed!).
^

getting there
St Anton is an easy transfer from Innsbruck, just under the hour. The chalet includes transfers in the price.
^

bottom line
The chalet costs from £1445pp including Club Class flights with BA and transfers, rising to £3645.
