Chalet Chineur
Verbier
Sleeps - 8

From £7500 for whole chalet per week

Classic chalet stuffed
with art and antiques

usp
Chalet Chineur is an infinitely tasteful, traditional chalet that is very much the loved mountain home of its owner, an art collector. As such, it is furnished with exquisite pieces of art and elegant furniture throughout. A gorgeous hideaway that ticks all the right boxes if it is a beautiful, relaxing retreat that you are looking for.

location
Chineur is perched high on the south facing Savoleyres side of Verbier, beside sister chalet Chalet Thomas, with fabulous views stretching out across the valley to Bruson.

style
Stylish elegance. The walls are lined with tasteful post-Impressionist art and the furniture is all overstuffed and cosy tartans by Colefax & Fowler. There is an 18th century granite fireplace in the main room and plenty of old wood everywhere, as well as a burnished wooden dining table and sideboard plus traditional lamps. ^

rooms
There are four rooms, including one with a gorgeous, characterful ‘lit clos’ traditional wooden built-in bed. Each is cosy and smart, and two have en suite bathrooms while the other two share a bathroom.
 ^

food & drink
Pure heaven. The chalet hires top-of-the-range chefs who will prepare everything from simple children’s meals to fancy fine dining for the adults.

There is a choice of three red and three white house wines that are unlimited and complimentary, as are soft drinks and beer. Champagne is extra, and there is an impressive à la carte wine list for guests to upgrade to. ^

service
Professional, attentive and friendly – particularly good with children.
 ^

spa facilities
There is a hot tub out on the terrace with stunning views down the valley.
 ^

children
Children will love the lit clos bedroom and the garden area outside to play in the snow. The chef provides children’s tea if required, and there are games and a Nintendo Wii to entertain them.
 ^

extras
There are iPod docking stations in every room and a driver service until 4am each night, should you wish to sample the bright lights of Verbier.
 ^

for skiers
Verbier is a grown-up, world class ski resort, with 410km of skiing for all levels and particularly excellent, accessible off-piste. If you haven’t skied there yet, do so as soon as possible. There are even world-beating mogul runs, should you love bump skiing, and lots of great events such as the Nissan Xtreme Verbier in March and the XSpeedSki in April.
 ^

for non skiers
The town is a vibrant, bustling, big resort with loads of shops selling everything from the inevitable ski gear to gorgeous home furnishings. If you want a cowskin rug or some designer lighting or the latest Moncler ski jacket, Verbier is the place.
 ^

corporate Groups
The chalet can help to create itineraries tailored to suit your budget and preferred activities. They pride themselves on a five star service, from the organization of all pre-departure arrangements including insurance, airport transfers, lift passes, ski lessons, heli-skiing and massages, to picnics on the piste and restaurant reservations. ^

best thing
The tasteful furniture and the art.
 ^

worst thing
The fact that the chalet is located a little way from the centre of things – but transport is laid on and the views this high up are fantastic.
 ^

getting there
Verbier is 1hr 45mins from Geneva and 45 mins from Sion.
 ^

bottom line
The chalet costs from £938 per person per week, while the chalet as a whole costs from £7,500. The most expensive week is £23,500.
